ADELE WEBB ANN WOLFE Physical The physical education of Edmondson,s girls was not neglected this year. Girls obtained learning experiences in three areas-the gymnasium, the swimming pool, and the playing field. Through these experiences the physical education instructors were interested in contributing to the girls' mental, social, and spiritual growth. The Physical Education Department offered a program that included class instruction, intramural participation, and interscholastic activities. Through this program the depart- ment strove to give girls an opportunity to develop and improve their skills and to enrich their enjoyment of sports, dances and aquatics as both a participant and as a spectator. Of course the instructors constantly encouraged the important qualities of emotional maturity, cooperation, leadership, good health practices, and good grooming on the part of their girls.
