Together they denote the Light of Knowledge. During the 1959-1960 annual Torch Initiation Assem- bly, the Light of Knowledge gleamed brightly with great pride on Dave Brown, Richard Graham, and Wayne Mc- Cown, who, through their high academic achievements in their sophomore and junior years, earned the supreme honor of permanent torch. About 45 torch bearers had the opportunity to become members of permanent torch in the remainder of their high school months. More than 85 one-bar members were initiated into the Torch Honor Society at the 1959-1960 Torch Assembly. Torch members were in charge ot ticket selling and ush- ering at all school plays and concerts.
