With only four runners returning from the initiate cross country team, Coach Les Kirkendorfer had to work with many boys that had no previous experience. The Tiger runners won two out of their eight meets. They outran Mount Vernon 28-27 and beat Seattle Prep 40-2'I. The Northwest League Cross Country Meet at Sedro Woolley this year, ended without a winner. The course had been laid out in such a manner that no one really knew where they were going, thus nobody seemed to go in the right direction. New to Edmonds, Coach Les Kirkendorfer taught with the Language Arts department. Before he came to Edmonds, he taught at Richland. Coach Kirkendorfer has worked throughout the year to have cross country recognized as a varsity sport.
