Freshman Class History The youngest monkeys of our tribe to be permitted through the gates of the E. H. S. jungle came from far and near. Of these 115 wide-eyed freshies 5 7 entered from the Edmonds Grade School and 39 of that 57 entered the grade school from other schools. Thus they have but 18 pioneers The freshman class also includes 49 members from Alderwood and 9 who came from Esperance. The freshmen have spent their first year in becoming adjusted to their new surroundings and have had little time fwe think they were just a little bashful, tool to participate in many of the school's activities. They are line prospects though, and we are sure that next year they will be tak' ing active parts in every activity and will prove themselves the leaders we believe them to be. Luck to you--Freshmen! -was Sophomore Class History In September, 1934, 111 freshmen were herded into the cages of Miss McConihe and Mr. McGibbon. ' This was their hrst step forward in the progress of obtaining a high school education. The members of this class did not assist in very many school activities, excepting the freshmen class assembly held March 12. ' One year later there were only 88 cubs caged in the two rooms of Mrs. Anderson and Mr. Bieber. A great advancement in all school activi' ties was displayed by having active members on the seasonal football and basketball teams. The girls also showed their ability in the basketball sports day that was held here. On May 15 the sophomore class made its debut hy holding the annual class party. Junior Class History Almost a hundred frightened freshmen came swinging from bus to bus on their way to Edmonds high school in the fall of 1933. Upon arriving they were greeted by Paul McGibbon and Miss Ruth McConihe, and added to the rest of the menagerie. They ended the year with a grand frolic at Silver Lake. In 1934, they wended their way back from jungle freedom to the big zoo and were confined in a higher cage by Mrs. Hallie B. Anderson and Warren Bieber. They were found to possess athletic, scholastic and acting ability, for they downed even the seniors in vodvil. The sophomore party was one of the most successful of the season, as was their picnic and skating party at Silver Lake. i In the term of 193936 this particular species was again promoted to higher cages, their keepers being Mrs. Grace Bliss and Mr. E. T. Parsons. In the fall they had an exclusive lollyrpop party and their .postponed junior Prom was successfully presented in March with the appropriate St. Patrick's green much in evidence. Their musical and acting abilities were' applauded in vodvil, operetta, and junior play. They wound up a. hilarious year in the zoo with their annual Silver roundup. twenty one
