X DEBA TE This year's Edmond High School debate squad will be involved with such issues as tariffs, quotas, underdeveloped countries, and the European Economic community, Debating the proposition, resolved that the United States should initiate a policy of reciprocal free trade among non-communist nations, the EHS speakers will represent their school in approximately 10 tournaments this year, ROW 1: Penny Davis and Mr. Shaw, Spon- sor. ROW 2: Mary Smith and Jane Crowd- er. ROW 3: Joy Fancey and Pat Murphy. ROW 4: Bob McLaughlin and Brad Rice. ROW 5: Alex Frank and Dan Goble. PARAMEDICAL CL UB This year, a new organization has been added to EHS. The Paramedical Club was designed to aid those interested in entering the field of medicine. lt was under the able leadership of Mr. Kirk Rice. These future Ben Caseys gained much knowledge of medicine through trips to different hos- pitals and talks by prominent doctors. The Club has done much this year to further interest in medicine. BOOK WORMS Behind the scene, the Bookworms have done their part in helping the EHS cast. The student body always finds the Bookworms ready to help them find any article which they need. The members of this organization have had a full, active, and interesting year. They have attended lectures, installation banquets and also the state meeting. The Bookworms, sponsored by Mrs. Hall, are chosen by their high ideals, scholarship, and personalities. FHA. We are the future Homemakers of Amer- ica. We face the future with warm courage and high hopes . . . and the Edmond Chap- ter of the F. H.A. has begun to recognize the importance of recreation and service. With fifty-nine members, this organiza- tion holds monthly meetings and also parti- cipates in district and state meetings. Skills learned in F. H.A. are those that will be bene ficial in present and future homes. Their eight-sided emblem symbolizes the significant purposes of the organization. The F. H. OFFICERS STANDING: Sharon Dykes - Treasurer, Donna Hedges - Vice-President, Mary Hamilton - President, Nancy Payne - Secretary, Lynn Ann Neal - Student Council Representative. BOW WOW More than 150 EHS girls belong to the Bow Wows. Attending athletic events, pre- senting pep assemblies, buying the Letter- men's jackets from money they make in concession work, and plastering the halls and students with art work to boost school spirit are just a few of this organization's duties. Coronations are planned and carried out by the Bow Wows. At the close of the year the Bow Wows hold a tea, inviting their mothers and next year 's members as guests. At this tea the next year's officers and cheerleaders are an- nounced. Hopes run high and the new core of officers get ready for a new year of ac- tivities. New and different things have been done this year. The surprise Pep Assembly really gave everyone a big boost in spirit. The year's schedule is a busy one for this organization whose responsibility is to stim- ulate school spirit.
