Since its construction much has been done to further the advancement of physical educa- tion in the school, Due to competent instruc- tors and adequate facilities, the students have benefited greatly by this training. ORGANIZED IN 1915, Edmond High School has advanced a great deal since that time. With the construction of the present building in 1924, it was possible to offer the students a more complete course. The Administration Building has fif- teen classrooms, besides a large audi- torium. Senior classes in the past have con- tributed many useful items, which have been welcome additions to the high school. -941133 The Administration Building with a closeup view of the front entrance. Equip- ped with most of the conveniences of the modern home, it has served the school in many ways. Various dances, parties, and bon- quets, as well as homemaking classes, are held in it throughout the year. To this Edmond Board of Education we wish to express our gratitude for its efforts to make the Edmond system of education one of the best. SUPERINTENDENT EVER SINCE he came to Ed- mond High, Owen King, now superintendent, has proved himself year after year to be a true friend to the students of our school. Mr. King became associat- ed with our school in 1929 by taking the reins of wrestling coach and teaching several classes. He became superintendent in 1933 and continued to coach wrestling until 1941. During the last few years Mr. King's position has required much of his time to be spent apart from the student body, but his chief concern contin ues to be the welfare of every student in our school Now in his old age Mr King has become a hopeless addict to the sport called golf I I .3-v ' 19' cw x N. i vox wo-fr PRINCIPAL B C PIPPIN came to Edmond High School as principal in 1944 from Kingfisher county where he had been engaged in school work for 17 years He began his school work as a oach and teacher at Britton High School in 1925 As principal and friend Mr Pippin is constantly besieged by students wanting counsel and advice about problems both in and out of school Mr Pippin is a strong advo cate of school government and has an unwavering faith in the students of Edmond High - . They have a fine record of participation in the various school activities and an admirable group of leaders to aid them through the dif- ficult first year. At an early meeting the class elected as their class parents, Mrs. Esther Howell and Mr. Ray Stringer. The par- ents have served excellently, and the class believe they could have made no better choice. During this first year, the freshmen have made a brilliant showing in the annals of Edmond High School but hope to achieve the paramount position when, in l95O, they shall be classified as seniors.
