H THE 19:-we aui.l.nos R M s L l ,, , JUNIOR CLASS ACTIVITIES The Junior class of 1938 has been one of the largest in the history of Edmond High School. The membership has been composed of some of the most enthusiastic students, which has been shown by their varied activities. Many functions other than those of a curricular nature become a necessary part of the institution. The class is proud that it has members who are prominent in music, dramat- ics, athletics, and 4-H club work, aside from the editor-in-chief, Jerry Barnett, of The Bulldog. The members of the class who took part in the Junior play, Big Hearted Herbert , which was presented in November, will long remember the day. The entire membership of the class was responsible for the success of the play through untiring efforts in advertis- ing and boosting. Through the courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Martin, the class gave a party at the American Legion Hut in January. The even- ing was spent in dancing and playing games. Special interest was shown in the 'game of Hearts at which large groups fought fer- vently to avoid taking the unlucky card. Special guests for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Owen King, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Payne, and several members of the American Legion. Social functions for this class culminated with the annual Junior-Senior dance and pre- view. At this party We had the pleasure of entertaining our senior friends, who are now prepared to board the ship of fame and carry the name of Edmond High School to all parts of the world. It is hoped that the hospitality of the juniors will help them on their journey. Our class has one more year in this insti- tution. Let us profit by the glorious standards of our predecessors and make the name of our: class live long in the history of this school. Representatives in Student Council are Dick Macklin, Elwood Ball, Hazel Berrey, Jerry Barnett, Francys Griffin, Bette Carroll, Gordon Granzow, Wayne Roberts, Sue de Graffenreid, and Lois Havens. Members of the Orchestra are: Ione Dedrick, Gordon Granzow, and Clifford McClung. Members of the Glee Clubs are: Jean Burns, Bette Carroll, Ruth Dadisman, Winnie Youker, Mildred Suenram, Gloria Moore, Dick Macklin, John Perdue, and Margaret Jo Dillon. Members in the Operetta are: Ruth Dadis- man, Marvin Parkhurst, Bette Carroll, Dick Macklin, Gordon Granzow, Winnie Youker, Ruth Slaughter, and Mary Le Martin. Quartet members are: Ruth Dadisman and Dick Macklin. Honor Roll members are: Bette Carroll, J san Burns, Francys Griffin, Mildred Suenram, and Loren Wood. Oratorical contest winners are: Bette Carroll and Paul Walters. Football players are: Wayne Roberts, J. T. Watkins, Ernest Garrett, James Bigham, Marvin Parkhurst, Eugene Bishard, John Perdue, Dick Macklin, Paul Walters, Charles Sexson, Ernest Grant, Charles Hart, and Dave Cox. Basketball players are: J. T. Watkins, Howard Watkins, Wayne Roberts, Dick Macklin, Gordon Granzow, and Dave Cox. Wrestling participants are: Pat Roberts, Harold Collier, Owen Connelly, Fred Reed, Charles Hart, James Hulsey, and Richard Kochenower. Tennis players are: Dick Macklin, Pat Roberts, and LaVerne Shirley.
