Our team opened the season as the league s main threat and the first few games gawe evidence that ours wa. the team to fear. Unfortunately at the most inopportune time events began to move against our squad. Members of the team developed typical baseball injuries: sore arms catcher s fingers spiked ankles. All that was not good happened to us. Among the men who performed admirably and who brought distinction to our school were Bill Huther one of the league s best pitchers' Warren Makowski the leagues leading batter' and Don Campanelli Jim Billitier and Norm Minch fielders who handled every- thing that came their way and seldom committed an error. It is with real anticipation that we look to this spring of 1954 and the cry Play ball!
