The Parade followed the Pep Fest and was led by Grand Marshall Dr. Mel Bates. The game was played at Parade Stadium with Edison scoring 36 and South 7. EOISOK HOMECOM S3 Flawless, Exciting, Interesting, Fun ... ” Principal Jerry Simondet called the 1983 Homecoming Activities flawless, exciting, interesting and fun. He also remarked if 1983-84 continues in this spirit, and I am sure it will, it will surely go down as a BANNER. VINTAGE YEAR at Edison. Homecoming festivities included Hat and Tie Day on Monday. Decade Day on Tuesday, and Come As You Are Day on Wednesday, which saw everyone in their pajamas. After school it was time for some serious eating in the Spaghetti Eating Contest. Senior Jim Spano was declared winner. Thursday it was back to Ancient Greece and Toga Day and perhaps no one filled the role better than our own Mr. Simondet. During the afternoon, students displayed their finest in a variety of skits, songs, and dances. Finally, the big moment had arrived. The air was filled with excitement and when the crowns were placed we found that our 1983 Homecoming King and Queen were Tom Serie and Barb Sporlein.
