Homecoming 1977 Homecoming week started with a balloon toss on Monday. Tuesday afternoon, students beat the teachers in a faculty-student basketball game. Other activities included a tricycle race, pie-eating contest, circus day, and blue-gold day. This year the homecoming marathon was run on Thursday instead of the usual Tuesday morning. Bob Berg was first in the boys 18.6 mile race with a time of 1.54:39. Second and third place honors went to Glenn Chiodo (10), and Joe Pasma (12), respectively. Rita Paquette (12) won the girls 10 mile marathon with a winning time of 1.34:49. In second place was Lee Ann Craig (12). Laura Comminetti (11), and Mary Hanzlik (10), were tied for third. 23

The Greatest Show On Earth The Greatest Show on Earth-Homecoming 1977, was an evening program and coronation. The show, directed by Jack Litowsky, included acts by Edison students, alumni, and community. The program ended with the crowning of homecoming queen Cheryl Anderson, and homecoming king Dan Kuch. 22

There's No Place Like Homecoming Friday, October 14, ended homecoming week. Instead of the pre-game assembly and parade, the cheerleaders held a pep assembly during 2nd hour to psych the students for the football game against South. Because of continued construction on the new gym, the game was held at South. The TOMMIES Held the Tigers by the Tail -final score 40-13. 24
