Tuesday morning October 5, at 10:00, junior Bob Berg finished the 18 mile marathon run with a winning time of 1.53:00. This signaled the beginning of the 1976 homecoming activities. Bob beat Phil lacar-ella’s old time of 2.00:10 by seven minutes. Finishing second was senior Steve Fishbeck with a time of 2.04:09, and third was junior Chris Loso with a time of 2.04:10. Activities throughout the rest of the week were a volleyball game, a cracker-eating contest won by senior Karen Buettner, and a pic-cating contest won by senior Roger Bratsch. Voting for homecoming queen took place on Friday. October 1st. The sixteen semi-finalists were Bonnie Brandt, Pam Trombley, Sandy Kramer, Cathy Knapper, Sue Blosbcrg, Debbie Weinstock, Libby Chase, Sandy Tomczyk, Kim Anderson, Janet Ekstrom, Cindy Invie, Sandy Blosberg, Andra Slimak, Julie Onsrud, Sue Rorem. and Sally Morris. On Wednesday, October 6th, the vote for the five finalists took place. They were: Sandy Kramer, Kim Anderson, Debbie Weinstock. Sandy Blosberg. and Sally Morris. Friday - Homecoming day - was a day of mixed emotions. By 12:30 p.m. nearly the whole school had heard of a serious accident involving six Edison students. Activities continued, although thoughts were with the injured students. 12 Homecoming
