Miss Dorothy Wallace is one such person. She demonstrates her never-ending energy and enthusiasm by putting importance on the individual. In classroom discussions, the atmosphere is of reciprocal learning where students and the teacher learn together. Miss Wallace graduated from Hamline University and before coming to Edison she taught in a small town. She has a wide variety of interests including reading, theater, travel, and art. With deep pride we dedicate the 1969 Wizard to Miss Dorothy Wallace. F A C U L T Y The greatest job of teachers is to cultivate talent until it ripens for the public to reap its bounty. Jascha Heifetz 7 Mr. Meixner Congratulations to you the Senior Class of 1969 for having completed another step toward your goal—a full and complete life. Your future holds for you great opportunity and promise. Success is within the reach of each and every one of you. I firmly believe your success will be dependent on whether each of you fully exploits your individual talents, your skills, and whether you exhibit a responsible attitude toward yourself and the society in which you live. I trust that as you enter the world of advanced education or work with all its confusion and uncertainty, you will meet wisely the many challenges and decisions which will confront you. Very soon you will be among those who will direct the change which must and will take place. Change which must be well planned, well directed if all in our society are to have the same opportunity, the same chance for success, the same full and complete life. Mr. Meixner 8 Mr. Elias Graduating from high school is the culmination of thirteen years of school experience. Leaving school is a drastic moving from one phase of your life into another. Our objective at Edison has been to provide you with experiences that will enable you to solve the problems you encounter and to help you to adjust to the social environment of your time. It seems that each generation faces a world with more complex problems than the preceding generation. You will meet with challenging situations, the greatest being the survival of our society. If jhe world is to solve the gigantic confrontations between nations, your generation must pull together—not apart. Congratulations on your graduation from Edison and may you plan your future wisely. 9 Mr. Elias AFTER Theater Mr. J. Litowsky, Play Prod.: Mr. J. Mielke, Erg.: Miss D. Wallace. Eng. Mr. N. I8C 181 Francois Dubois Our exchange student this year is the always happy, Francis Dubois. Francis is from Nance, France located near the German border. His father, a transport company manager, his mother, and his two brothers were filled with excitement when they heard of his American adventure. Francis is staying with the Oberg family. Living with them he is able to discover what a real American family is like. Francis is finding that Americans can be very helpful and friendly. Someday he would like to come back for another visit. Francis is very active in AFS, German Club, and Spanish Club. He is also an honorary attendant of Sno Daze. To him we wish happiness and success in the future years. 182 This year, as every year. International Day gave us the chance for a meaningful exchange of ideas with students from foreign countries. The students were introduced and entertained us in the assembly. They spent the remainder of the day visiting various classrooms. A tea held in the library concluded their day. International Day 183 This year's Blu Tri Formal was held at Brookdale Community Center. The band. The Soul Package' provided entertainment for the night. This affair was a girl ask boy which is quite enjoyable for the male species. All in all, ♦he night was quite exciting for everyone. Blu Tri Formal 184 185 What's everybody looking at? Caught ya! Well, this year it was sometimes hard to tell. Some of the girls wore their hair short and some of the boys wore theirs long. The slacks that were worn wore fitted then flared at the bottom. The boys wore suede—sweaters, pendletons, and jerseys. The dresses worn by the girls were frilly, bright, wild and short. There was a variety of clothes worn. The fashions this year were, in short, colorful, short, and shocking. The outer wear this year was centered around suede and leather. Of course, the letter jacket was ever present. Ski jackets were also popular. 189 Mr. U«big—Our Photographer. Left to Right: Penny Beihoffer, Carol Jones. Bev Baron. It has been our responsibility this year to keep the books straight and to see that the yearbook received proper publicity. It has been a most enjoyable year. Jean Chase Editor; Mr. Pibal Advisor As we bring to a close this school year of 1969 we. the Wizard Staff, present to you Edison’s yearbook. With the excellent guidance of Mr. Pibal and the fine photography of Mr. Liebig we managed to create a book that we hope is to your satisfaction. This year we have tried to produce, in a slightly different way, an idea of the experiences that we. the student body, shared together by being a part of Edison High School in 1969. Linda Quist, Barb Godave. Joyce Slabiak Girl’s Sports Working for the girls' sports section was not only inspiring but dangerous. Thanks to all the gym teachers, our section was a success. Good luck to next year's staff and we hope that they have as much fun as we did! Organizations Organization is the key word. Now, if we only knew what it meant. We managed to make a few risky changes this year and in our opinion, they helped to create a great book. The Pace-Setters —Donna Soder-man. Nancy Josul. Jim Nastoff. Connie Vincent. Terri Wagner. Seniors Carleen Rhodes, Carla Nelson, Betty Urista, Lynn Gaydos. Ellen Falkum. Being a member of the Wizard Staff was a new and enjoyable experience to all five of us. We worked hard to make the senior section the best yet. Alphabetizing and keeping track of almost five hundred pictures was no easy task. We hope you are as satisfied as we are. Boy’s Sports Mark Schneider and Rand Larson put a lot of hard work into this swell section. They had a lot of spiffy times. FACULTY: Jane Nelson, Kay Lubansky (Not Shown: Sue Herrmann, Cindy Schnabel) Faculty section should be retitled problems in future editions! But the teachers were handily controlled by our Faculty section. They encountered numerous fun situations in their desire to present a one-of-its kind section. School Life Left to Right: Kathy Blexrud, Rosalie Crawford, Jackie Tillman, Janice Bonden. We want to dedicate our section to the students at Edison and especially to the class of 69. We hope the work we have done will bring back all the happy memories you've had at Edison in the past. Always remember this as the year we went out and won our school spirit, and we deserved every bit of it. Because. WE ARE GREAT, WE ARE FINE, WE ARE THE CLASS OF ,69.
