One of the important purposes of Edison High School is to develop within each student the ability to make wise decisions based upon accurate facts, clear reasoning, and understanding. An educated man is open minded. He weighs all the evidence before making a decision. An educated man should be able to choose between good and evil, truth and falsehood, the beautiful and the ugly, the worthwhile and the trivial. His education should have prepared him to make the many decisions necessary in planning a good life and conducting it properly. In a nation of free men universal education is a necessity. Education must be more than mere training, more than adjustment to the world as it is. We hope that each student graduating from Edison High School will be better prepared to take part in remaking his world by making sound decisions in the home, on the job, and in his community. James F. Zimdars Assistant Principal
