DEDICATED TD . .. . Miss Grace Garland, who once replied when asked why she stayed in the teaching profession, I love youth and I love, even more, working with them. So it is with that attitude Miss Garland has been an outstanding teacher at Edison High School for many years. Her varied interests and her sincere en- thusiasm for each of them, in school as well as out, have made her the versatile individual that she is. Tops on the list of her school activities is her coaching of many class plays. The Father of the Bride and I Remember Mama are two of many plays that she has handled. Miss Garland has organized her radio workshop classes into producing many school radio plays and a few television plays. As head of Edison's speech department, Miss Garland has guided many students in speech contests and on debate teams. In previous years, she was the advisor of the dramatic club, Footlights and Curtain. Outside of school, Miss Garland has an unlimited number of interests. She has been employed in Glacier National Park, where she had charge of camps on riding trails. She also taught horseback riding in areas of Minnesota. Miss Garland has sung in her church choir for years. She is sincerely interested in classical music and enjoys playing records on her newly purchased hi-fi record player. With all her varied interests and personal attributes, Miss Garland is, truly, an individual to be admired and remembered. It is for these reasons that the 1958 WIZARD staff is proud to dedicate their yearbook to Miss Grace Garland.
