. ar ROBERT S. STEWART nl-le l-tails from Bonnie Scotland Robert Sharp Stewart completed his eighteen years of service as chief engi- neer at Edison on February eleventh, ot this year. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Mr. Stewart came to the United States at the age ot seventeen. l-le began working tor the Minneapolis Public Schools in l89l as clerk in a repair shop. When Edie son High School was built, Mr. Stewart was called to supervise the heating sys tem. l-lis work at our school terminated tortyenine years ot service in the city schools. A canny Scottish knack tor meeting any situation that might arise, and a gitt tcr keeping school children out of mischief were two ot Mr. Stewarts best traits. Because ot his iotly personality and broad beaming smile, thousands ot students well as faculty members have become his true friends. At a farewell banquet given in his honor by the engineering department and faculty, Mr. Stewart was presented with a cane on which were engraved the sig- natures ot each member ot the administration. We, the student body, should also like to be included among Mr. Stewart's memories of Edison High School. W
