1 ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] J J J Miss Cole—our assistant principal ... a likeable friendly adviser to all who know her . . . prepares our programs . . . checks our requirements for graduation . . . approves (or disapproves) our attendance . . . solves a multitude of difficulties for all of us . . . admits she's a use to doer of many things . . . from needlework to outdoor sports . . . now reads and hikes . . . considers tramping in some deserted Minnesota woods an unsurpassable sport... has seen most of the United States ... recently journeyed to New Orleans . . . contemplates a trip to Maine. Miss Kocken—our patient and understanding counselor . . . efficient head of College Day . . . straightens out many a student's muddled program . . . aids students in choice of occupation . . . enjoys a spin in her car . . . keeps in touch with college girls . . . visits chapters of her sorority.

Mr. Cook—our principal ... a most vital person . . . takes an active interest in school affairs . . . still has time to devote to his hobbies . . . sincerely believes that each one should have a hobby . . . ardent disciple of his teaching . . . has not only one but several ... all worthwhile ... a great camera enthusiast ... an amateur photographer (he says) . . . but we know his work and knowledge to be professional . . . interested in science . . . especially astronomy. Miss Todd—our visiting teacher . . . Edison's smiling lady . . . makes a hobby of her home and garden ... interested in all kinds of people and their problems . . . has amazing collection of curios and folk things from many countries . . . likes the outdoors . . . meals cooked over a bonfire.

English Teachers Miss Albinson -an excellent English teacher ... an interesting conversationalist . . . and being an English teacher, she naturally likes books . . . has the unusual hobby of collecting 18th century furniture ... is now furnishing her new apartment in this poriod. Miss Challman -Edison's great detective -she's now on the trail of a sure method for Injecting painlessly into the hoads of pupils correct grammar . . . her pet peeve is the frequent use of bad grammar over the radio . . . her week ends are spent on automobile trips. Miss Cowan -her geniality and Infectious enthusiasm inspire us to expend greater energy when studying Chaucer or Wordsworth ... is an all-around good sport . . . reads and parlor dozes ... helps with the housework and managing her nloces and nephews . .. likes an odd moment . .. would like to travel, but discovers that her twenty-four hours a day are too full. Miss Dunn -has her difficulties with the freshmen and the Odyssey . . . dees handwork of all kinds for relaxation and is mighty good at it. as her scholastic records show . . . paints dishes, makes lewelry and pottery, and does metal work and book binding . . . quite an artiste. Miss Fisch -has recently begun teaching 12th grade English and expression, making both very popular . . . she divides her time equally between reading, hiking, and horseback riding. Miss Garland -of all the fine work she has done for Edison, we have enjoyed most of all the plays she has coached ... is an excellent make-up artist .. . her one hobby is horseback riding .. . to use her own words. It's a grand sport be xiuso I love horses. Mrs. Gillies -our school publications have benefited greatly by her advice . . . she has tried her hand at all three . . . now the RECORD takes up her time . . . hor reading consists mostly of Journalistic material . . . her interest in art leads her to every Minneapolis exhibition . . . she can always be persuaded to take a motor trip . . . either the Gaspe region or our own lakes excite her. Miss Johnson —charming Interpreter of poems and essays . . . dial twister of new radio to get foreign programs . . . collects postcards . . . also dolls with foreign costumes. Mr. Mankowmki an Edison alumnus of whom we students are proud . . . likes school so well he teaches summer school . . . reads poetry and would like to writo some . . . likes to play with his three-year old daughter. Marcia Ann . . . enjoys watching all sports . . . plays hand ball and golf. Page 12
