Physical Fitness Prepares Classes This year a new teacher, lVlr. Thomas Ferguson, a graduate of Findlay College, took the position of physical education instructor and led 175 male students in a dozen activities. The main goal of the program was to develop the students physically, mentally, socially, and morally. Specific developmental goals were in the areas of physical fitness, increased skill range and accuracy, knowledge, attitudes and appreciation, and better use of leisure time. Activities included archery, speedball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, football, softball, gymnas- tics, badminton, and golf. Hopefully along with the physical activities planned, students have a carry over value that will prepare them to partici- pate in activities outside of their school program. Girls as well as boys used the Universal Gym, a new addition to the physical education depart- ment. The new machine was provided by the Booster Club. uscfww ' ' 1 T -':' . 3' r ' A ' ' --Y-- ,....... rrrr. i fr iii ,ilu li. , f --'- can-a --ef 2- i - 1 ,HQ - ' F xr t -- .
