Edison's Track Squad Places Second Edison track team finished the 1973 season in sec- ond place behind IVlapleton in the Firelands Confer- ence track meet. Dennis Spradlin was the first track- man ever to win the 220 and 100 yard dash three years in a row. ln dual meets the Chargers finished with 1 win and 4 losses. The only win was against Western Reserve 73-54. The thinclads also competed in three trian- gular meets. They won against Western Reserve and South Central 83M-542-19 and came in second against lVIargaretta and Old Fort 682-62M-24M-28, and Columbia Station, Columbus South 69M-65-242. At the sectional track meet John Bostater finished first, Dan Pritt and Tom Sanders finished second, and Dennis Spradlin third in their events and qualified for Districts. Although Dan Pritt failed to go on into the state finals, he finished fourth in the District. During the track season four records were broken: John Bostater in the discus 139.72 feet and the shot put 51.1 feetp Dan Pritt, long jump 21.421 feet, and Tom Sanders in the pole vault, 12.6 feet. Dan Pritt was voted most Valuable Player for the eighth annual lVlargaretta relays. Dennis Spradlin scored the most points during the season with 181 points and was also named the lVlost Valuable in track.
