Jeff Einerson, the Chargers 112 pounder, ended up sixth in the A-AA wrestling. Edison compiled a 3-5 dual meet record but collected an envious amount of tourna- ment wins including first in the Edison Invita- tional and the Firelands Conference. Jim Springer and Dan Willis were the other two Chargers that made it to State, but both were defeated in their first match and knock- ed out of competition. Einerson made it to State by placing first in the District and first in the Sectionals for the second season in a row. Springer gave himself State hopes by ranking fourth in the District and third in the Sectionals. Willis made it by placing third in the District and second in the Sectionals. Einerson ended up the season with a 28-3 record and a career record of 70-12.
