Edison High School inducted seven Jour- nalism ll students into the Ouill and Scroll Honorary at the annual journalism banquet held May 7 at the Reed House in Nova. Rob Johnson, Kathy Reer, Debbie Wikel, Pam Drake, Fran Early, and Gene Fernandez were awarded membership into Quill and Scroll for their active service on the journal- ism staff. Diane Franklin, SPIRIT Editor, was voted the Most Outstanding journalism student. She was active on the staff for three years. The SPIRIT was published and distributed eight consecutive times throughout the 1972-73 school year. For the first semester, the SPIRIT received a first class honor rating overall and a mark of distinction in physical appearance. On April 14, the SPIRIT placed fourth in its class in the Northeast District at the annual Northeastern Ohio Newspaper Day at Kent State University. The 1972 REFLECTIONS, edited by Tim Wrenn, placed second honors when the book was rated early in the school year. The 1973 REFLECTIONS, edited by Lindy Reising, consists of over two-hundred pages, eight of those in full color which were sponsored by area businesses. A gs Spanish Club continued to acquaint students in the Spanish way of life by holding numerous Spanish din- ners throughout the year. Pecky Adriazola, an ex- change student from Bolivia, helped in giving the stu- dents the education and atmosphere needed for an interesting year. Spanish Club attempts to promote the proper atti- tude toward the national differences of the Spanish speaking countries.
