ROW TWO: Bob Strader, Scar- lett Marshall, Jim Weilnau, Clarence Stanley, Bonnie Garwood, Charles Hippler, Mike Weitzel, and Mark Kropf. ROW THREE: Mr. Bruce Thayer, ad- viser, Randy Deehr, Steve Moyer, Mark Sisson, Steve Weilnau, Ricky Lowry, Ted Wikel, Kim Suhanic, and Chuck Smith. ROW FOUR: David Dixon, Randy Roboin, Danny Payne, Frank Hill, Gene Weilnau, Jim Henry, Ed Putnoky, Gene Charville, John Raymond, and Charles Smith. Jim Garwood received the State Farmer award at the State FFA Convention held in Columbus April 27-28. Only two percent of all FFA mem- bers are chosen for this award. Jim is the second student from Edison to receive this degree. Other outstanding members received awards at the annual I j ,F banquet held March 27. Mike Wetzel received Star Green- M , - if hand for the best work as a i sf first year student. Steve Crecelius was the recipient of both Star Chapter Farmer and Star Horticulture Awards, and Frank Hill won Star Swine award. Bonnie Garwood won second in the district in the creed contest, in extemporanious speaking, Sue Garwood won second in the county. In the annual parliamentary procedure contest held at EHOVE November 21, Edison's chapter placed fourth in the county. Gene Charville, Mark Suhanic, and Frank Hill, members of the soil judging team, placed second in the county October 5, and went on to place third in the district October 17, 18. Livestock judges Steve Crecelius, Mark Sisson, and Jim Weilnau won seventh in district competition at the Huron Coun- ty Fairgrounds March 24. Bonnie Garwood, Kim Suhanic, and Mike Wetzel placed ninth in district dairy judging April 5. Ed Knallay and John Raymond served as delegates to the State Convention and Bev Weilnau sang in the State FFA Chorus. One 'of the highlights of the year's activities was the chapter trip to Chicago the week of November 26. There they attended the: Chicago International Livestock Show and Rodeo. In addi- tion, they visited the Museum of Science and lndustry. William Lowe, Sectional Vice-President from North Union High School in Richwood, Ohio, visited the FFA facilities and reviewed the programs in November as part of his duties. He currently visits schools to study their programs to give and re- ceive information. Officers for this year are Jim Garwood, president: Steve Crecelius, vice-presidentp Ed Knallay, secretaryp Sue Garwood, treasurerg Gene Sexton, sentinel: Bev Weilnau, reporter, Mark Suhanic, student adviser.

Drama Club Produced Two Major Plays This year, Edison Drama Club produced two major tvvo-act plays. The first, WELCOME TO THE MONKEY HOUSE, by Curt Voongret, portrayed a community theater group that produced four different plays inside the one. The second, THE DlARY OF ANNE FRANK, was based on the diary of a young Jewish girl hiding in an Amsterdam attic with one other family besides her own during the Germany Occupation of World War ll. The Drama Club also presented three one-act plays for the Spring Art Show. The Edison Drama Class, produced two children's plays as well as helping direct the one acts for the Art Show. One of the main goals of the Drama Club this year was to make as much money as possible to go toward a light system and a curtain for the stage. Officers elected were Rita Young, president, Rob Johnson, vice president: Debbie Hohman, secretary, and Jamie Foos, treasurer. Best actor and actress awards went to Rob Johnson, best actor, Lauri Simpson, best actress, and Dennis Boose, most contributions to the programs of the club. . J Q gn in xi:
