Edison High's Principal MR. NORMAN A. MacDONALD ln every modern business and industrial organization the employees as well as the management strive to make the organization an efficient and successful place of business. Although much money and effort are spent on the comfort and convenience of the em- ployees, the only reason for the company's existence is the success of the final product, which is the manufactured piece of merchan- dise. lf the business organization fails, the employees are out of a iob and without means of livelihood. Your school may be likened to a business organization. You are the employee and the faculty is the management. However, as well as being the employee, you are also the end product. You, the finished product, are presented to the community after grad- uation. For your comfort and convenience the school provides you with student govern- ment, social affairs, assemblies, athletics, eating facilities, and comfortable and safe buildings. But, don't forget the end product. You are here to become a more informed and better educated individual. lf you, as a student, shirk your duty, you will not be prepared to meet the challenge of college or a iob and the school will have failed in its goal. So, while you are a student here, take advantage of the opportunities offered you and be happy, but, do not fail to master the basic subiects, for they may well build and prepare you for your future life.
