Prom 1978 — Tropical Sunset At 8:00 on May 13, sixty- five couples walked into the 1 ' Tropical Sunset ' ' of the 1978 Prom. A sparkling pond holding live goldfish could be viewed from the orchid festooned bridge which led the way to the dance floor. The music of Stonewood Fox was both romantic and rock. Couples danced among tropical birds, a thatched hut, pineapples and netting . A mural of a tropical sunset was the background for many a picture as was the pond and bridge in the foyer . Professional pictures were taken by Spasoff Studio of Gary, In. The 1978 prom, sponsored by the class of 1979, was a tremendous success . Post prom was held at Jonynas Hall in Chesterton. Delicious food and the music of Freeway made it the culmination of a beautiful evening .
