Many students arrived as early as 7:30 to find their way around the new school . Many were confused during the week because final touches were still being put on the new school . Within the first month , students finally settled down to classes and started to join clubs. Freshmen were eager to learn of the high school activities, so many joined inter-school activities. Sophomores and Juniors started back into their routine . Seniors were filled with the excitement of their final year and being able to order their announcements . Entering into the second semester, many students were used to the school routine . After the changing of class schedules , students fell into the routine for the coming year. DOIT AGLES CAN . As Seniors, the Class of ' 78 realized the time had flown by all too fast, leaving them with many memories of their high school years . As Freshmen, they purchased their class jerseys and saw the black and gold class flag hung in the gym. As Sophomores, their float, 1 ' Declaration of Eaglependence ' ' , went along with the Bicentennial . They also started a new tradition by being the first class to receive their class rings as Sophomores. Their Junior year float 1 ' Cougars Get No Free Rides on Our Screaming Eagle ' ' , made them very proud by winning first place . The class shared the Homecoming Spirit Trophy with the Seniors . The girls in the class placed second in the powder puff games also . With the theme ' ' Over The Rainbow ' ' the long awaited prom was held on May 14. All too soon, their Senior year arrived. Classes were held in the new addition and they had to become familiar with it as did other students and teachers . Before they knew it, Homecoming was upon them. Their float ' ' Eagles Are Bound For Stardom ' ' disappointed many by not taking first place , but the class still had cause to be happy when they won the Spirit Trophy and the girls won the powder puff championship . As the Senior year came to a close , deserving class members were honored at Awards Day ceremonies . Graduation came as the culmination to twelve years of school . The Editors: We , as Editors , have tried to capture the year in pictures as we thought you would remember it throughout the years. It was difficult, for so many photographs were taken from our darkroom . We would like to say to those who took them that we hope you enjoyed them . To our photographers, we would like to ask the question, 1 ' What Happened? ' 1 It never seemed to fail that the pictures were blurred or within five minutes the negatives were scratched . We thank Kim Barth for the times he stepped in to give us a helping hand . We would like to say ' ' Thanks ' ' for those staff members who helped throughout the year and to those who just wanted their photograph in the book . A special thanks to Mrs . Basile who helped build the yearbook back up to where it was and also for keeping her cool with the financial conditions of the yearbook. To Mrs. Pat Lindeman, company yearbook advisor, thank you for speaking to the company to get an extended deadline for our debt on the 76 ' book and also for having patience with us at the beginning of the year. A special thanks goes to Mr.Webdell and Mr. Fritz for their cooperation.
