CHANGE IN LOCATION OF SUPERINTENDENT’S OFFICE During the first two months of school, we had the privilege of having our superintendent’s office in its original location on the third floor above the north stairway in Edison Building where Mr. Virgil 1. Bailey, former principal of Edison High School, set up his office as the first superintendent of East Gary Schools in the fall of 1935. Following the first few days of November, Mr. Bailey moved his office to a larger office in the Eastside School Building. We have missed Mr. Bailey’s presence as in former years, but many changes have been made as Edison’s en- rollment lias grown since Mr. Bailey came to Edison twenty-two years ago. OUR APPRECIATION TO OUR ADMINISTRATION As we entered the halls of Edison from day to day to attend our regular classes, we did not see the members of the Board of Education who met regularly twice a month to attend to their administrative duties. To the members of the Board of Education, Mr. Bailey, our superintendent, and Mr. Roos, our principal, we are deeply grateful for their untiring efforts to provide the best of educa- tional facilities possible with the means pro- vided by available tax funds. Dear Diary: The brains, the athletes, and the socialites — these we remember as our classmates and friends. This year there were 115 freshmen, 107 sophomores, 95 juniors, and 65 seniors — a total of 382 teenagers studying, cheering, and laughing together in the class- rooms, at the ball games, and during the dances.
