We wonder if she is studying so hard that we who come out of our rooms once in a while never see her. She has a reputation for be- ing an excellent student and a mighty hard worker. Besides that we all know of her great liking for Mr. Emery's course. Do- Mi-Sol-Do. DAPHNE ELIZABETH BLAKE Das Erie, Pa. Erie Branch Glee Club, 3, 43 President .Iunior Class. 23 Self-Government Committee: Manager Basketball Team, 3, Al: Athletic Association, 3, 4. She has two eyes so big and brown, Take care! She gives a side glance and looks down, Beware! Beware! ' One would think that the poet had seen Das before he wrote that part of the poem. although the rest of it isn't a bit like her. because she isn't tickle at all. Uh, girls, I've got some news for you! lm- mediately all rush for Das for its sure to be good. Daphne's school career is apt to be me- teoric, if present indications may be relied upon. We don't know him very well, but he surely is faithful. Daphne is the first side ot' the Octagon an GRACE LIYCINDA BELL Spagett Tidioute, Pa. Tidionte ll. S. She was most successful in being able to attend every show. And although she trips a light fantastic toe, when she fell for Moses, the mail man, she didn't even trip the earth rose to meet her. Grace plays the piano. saxaphone and mandolin, but her greatest musical talent is singing. llc-r favorite song is something like this: Where the vines and mosses grow And the tall trees nod and blow Over the roads in an old t'hevy 'l'hat's the way for Smiles and me, IV.-X J. ll.-XUUN Springboro, l'a. lidinlnoro ll. The Fates were surely kind to Eleanor for they gave her a ready wit and a willing tongue. Did you ever see her at loss for something to say? She is a good teacher and true friend and what more should we want? Eleanor says that she is not indebted to the school for all of her teaching experience for she spent, so she says, a great deal of time and energy in training Frances in the way she should go. Eleanor likes to direct certain affairs so some day we must not be surprised to hear of her managing a large farm. But whatever she does we are sure that Eleanor will find a happy life and many friends. BESSIE F. AINSWORTH Betty Corry, Pa. Spartansburg H. S. Y. W. C. A. There is something, just a something, in her dreamy eyes, There beneath their lashes long, and deep- a secret lies, And the burden that it wears has plainly left its trace In the sweet and calm repose that rests upon her face. tAdapted.l Thorough, genuine, and appreciative is Betty. Thorough in her ideals, genuine in her friendships, and appreciative of any real worth in others. Was there ever a pal like you, Betty? Betty is 'specially interested in the Jap alfair. She doesn't care to discuss the ques- tion however so we have been unable to gain much information on that important topic. Still waters run deep. Evidently not a betrayer of conildences. C243 MARY ANDERSON Parker's Landing, Pa. ' Grove City H. S. Junior and Senior Class Treasurerg Cabi- net Member Y. W. C. A.g Student Prayer Meeting Committee. If anybody wants a friend, they will find no truer one than Mary. She is always ready to help some one. Did you ever see her when she didn't have her lessons? Mary does not have very much to say, but when she does say something, it is sure to be worth while. We are sure she will be a success at her chosen profession. We trust that Mary will not have as much difficulty in getting her finances when she is teaching as she has had with the dues of the class of '23. FRANCES ALLEN Conneaut Lake, Pa. Conneaut H. S. Y. W. C. A. Are you Eleanor Adsit or Frances Allen? No, they don't look alike but they surely are inseparables in spite of the fact that they are roommates. How Eleanor managed to get along in Erie without Frances is more than we know. Fran is one of Edinboro's most diligent and best students and is chuck full of fun as well. Her motto is Get my lessons and my marks will take care of themselves. Noth- ing seems to hold terrors for Frances whether its jumping over the old horse in gymnasium or taking an examination in Economics.

There is much to be said about this young lady although it is her own statement not ours, the most of it is not divulgable. Last year Edinboro knew her but little and it was only with those weeks spent in Erie that we learned of her love of music and for movies. At that time she counted a day lost when she failed to see one show. Mr. Sackett has her admiration on ac- count of his sense of humor, for whisper it softly, she is the possessor of a keen and ac- tive one of her own. Very few know of the cleverness which she conceals under a cool and irresponsible manner. By a neatly turned phrase or the judicious use of words she turns a trite and banal saying into a worth while thought. Books also receive her attention. She has a deep affection for Mark Twain and a few others, the others she reads and laughs. AGNES BORGER Tag Saegertown, Pa. Edinboro H. S. Y. W. C. A. Agnes is certain that people ought to mind their own business, especially at night when she's attending to her own affairs and if they don't well-that's Tag's bark but her bite is not half that bad. Studious and conscientious, Agnes has won the high admiration of her pupils in the grades and we believe that she will make a real teacher, one that will reflect credit on her Alma Mater. C261 PEARL BORGER Bill Saegertown, Pa. Edinboro H. S. Y. W. C. A. Bill? Yes, that implies just a happy-go- lucky person and that's Pearl, full of fun when it's time for fun, but when she gets over here at the public school, she's just the most dignified and business like instructor that you ever saw. Bill's usually seen with Tag who's no nearer relative than a sister and they join in an effort to make life worth living for their wide circle of friends. We feel sorry for you if your not in that circle because we're right here to tell you that you're miss- ing something worth while. MAY B. BOYER Sharon, Pa. Sharon H. S. May has often kept us in wonder by her quiet, distant way but as we come to know her, we find she has many hidden secrets. She has often been heard to remark that she will never be caught sitting on a table for fear of being an old maid, but from the mail she receives, we haven't any doubt that she will need to worry and what gives us more assurance is that she is often heard humming- Bill's mine, all mine.
