FOREWORD The future works out great men's purposes; The present is enough for common souls. Who never looking forward, are indeed Mere clay, wherein the footprints of their age Are petrified forever. James Russell Lowell DEDICATION In the past decade, Edina Morningside High School has become a respected teaching institution. Through the excellent quality of its faculty, administration, and student body, Edina has earned a reputation in its scholastic and extra-curricular competition. Both interior and exterior changes have occured in our school's structure. Among these are variations in the faculty, the students, and the building itself. In 1952, the old gym, which was actually the auditorium stage, was replaced by a modern gymnasium. During the year of 1960, various changes will occur in the actual structure of the school building. A new addition to the north wing should be completed in the fall of 1961. This enlargement will provide more and better facilities for the incoming students. To the ten successful years during which Edina's students, faculty, and administration have participated in the school's functions, we dedicate the 1960 Whigrean. 5
