A chasm wide and deep Which we are to cross. A chasm with a bridge That needs to be strengthend. A bridge with a path beyond Which has been travelled As we must do now. A path filled with obstacles Shall we skirt them Or go right through? Now we step on the bridge, Shall we run over it lightly Or walk with frightened, hesitant step? Or shall we cross it slowly, planning, thinking Of what is to come? We shall stop in our path And look back We shall remember crossing, How we felt as we did it.
