Harvey then told me that his pal Roger Waterman was now athletic coach at E H S Roger had bc cn a fighter under the name of Rocky Roger but the only fight he ever won was the one for Janlce Klosterman Roger had a hard time convincing Janice that she should marry him instead of Kenneth Kramer but he finally won out and now he and Janice are happily married As for Kenny his broken heartwas quickly mended and he went west where he bought a sheep ranch in Montana Kenny was always fond of sheep especially the one he had had at home even though he did have to put on his track shoes when he went near him Noticing three girls talking I decided to Join them and become reacquainted Of course they were the trio of E H S days Jane Lewls Betty Rodas and Bette Hamlett If irst I asked Jane to tell me about herself She informed me that she was work1ng in a dog food factory where she samples dog food before it is shipped out It must be a very nourishing dog food for Jane now weighs two hundred pounds She said she never married because she didn t have room in her heart for both a husband and ten dogs Bette Hamlett told me that she and Waldo QDexter Hydej are now doing a man and wife dance routine at the Rainbow Tap She said that she had so much fun at the Aragon Ballroom dancing with Waldo on our first Chicago trip that she decided to make it per manent Betty Rodas had a much sadder story to tell She and Jerry Holtz had married a few years after graduation Jerry was well on his way to becoming a skilled surgeon but during his first operation he accidently left a pair of scissors inside the patient The patient returned a few months later complaining ofa side ache and when doctors reopened him they found the scissors Naturally Jerry was relieved of his position and from then on he lost all respect and confidence in himself He later left home and Betty said that she had traced him now to Maxwell Street in Chicago and that her principal reason for making this second Chicago trip to to look for Jerry had worked at the Baby Fold in Dubuque for a few years until I met my millionaire husband We are now raising our own baby fold of nine children When the next couple came through the door Ilooked twice to make sure it was whom I thought Yes it was Bruce Hochhaus and Jeanette Whitehead now Mr and Mrs Some gal in Iowa City hooked Lyle Beck I hear Jeanette was pretty well broken up and then when Myrna Possehl gave Bruce the brush off for some doctor Bruce and Jeanette turned to each other for comfort Bruce said he had always had a sl1ght crush on Jeanette back in high school when the two worked 1n the principal s office Anyway they are now happily married and have a family of three As for Myrna her career as a nurse was ended when she married a young intern lt seems there was a rule of some k1nd that she couldn t marry unt1l she finished nurses training Anyway Myrna is now making herself useful as a wife and mothering five Chll dren and a dog I moved on to a couple of boys who looked familiar but I couldn t quite recall their names When one of them said I mEaglebeak I knew they were Lawerence and Jerry Lee Jerry told me that after the death of Jimmy Durante he became the second Snoz and now stars in Cinerama all over the globe Lawerence who always was the qu1et one said that he was now night patrolman between Greeley and Onelda Traffic seems to have picked up between these two towns since Greeley built a drive in theatre Lawerence said his the former Audrey Smock was instrumental in getting his Job for him Looking over the group I missed Ila Lee Totman I asked a group of boys but none knew until Bernard Fangman said that she was his boss and would Join the group in Chicago He informed us that she now owns the Sherman Hotel Qrenamed the Totman Hotelj in Chicago and Barny tests beauty rest mattresses for use in her hotel He claims her hotel has the most comfortable beds in the world Ila Lee and Bernard should know for on our first tr1p to Chicago they were forever wishing that we could go back to the hotel so that they could l1e down and rest for a few minutes. The next person to appear was my cousin Kerry Rizer Kerry told me that he had finally married Verona Sherman and that they now operated the store at Wood Center The girls asked me what I was doing and whether I had ma.rried.
