1955 CLASS PROPHELY Rhonda I-Imes and her commltte wrote the class prophecy It was wr1tten as though lt was taklng place 1n 1985 and as though she was makmg a journey to Mars ln a space shxp She read the blllboards whlch were pa1nted on stars along the way These blllboards helped to explam the outcome of each classmate The advertlsement of the Tegen FIVE and Ten remmded her that Shlrley Perrlnjaquet had marrled Walt and lnherlted the Tegen D1me to a Dollar Store after she had a success ful career as a concert slnger They had flve ch1ldren named 1 Z 3 4 and 5 cents but gave up before reachlng thelr goal of 10 Llla Wlllman and Rhonda Hmes were two old malds that operated an 1nsurance fmrm and used a slogan that read If ln need of help call Rhonda Thls had orlgmated at Lakeslde years before The advertlsement advertlsmg baby clothes was that of Mr and Mrs Jerry The1n lPhyll1s Meyersj They had adopted elght chlldren and he had lnvented three cornered pants w1th bullt 1n zlppers Another star advert1sed a resort hotel m Arabla operated by Larry Stone He had a harem of n1ne wwes e1ght Arablan beauties and the nlnth was the former Cecxlla Chop ard The s1gn read next was that of the funeral parlors operated by Terry Wxlson He was marrled to a red head wxth a vlolent temper Hxs slogan was 'Why let the Dev1l cremate you? Try us flrst ' No one knew what had become of Esther Uhlenkamp h1s flrst wxfe but many thought he had used her as h1s flrst subject for crematxon Shlrley Faust as a pretty nurse was observed on the next star b1llboard Th1s s1gn sldent nurse at present at the Whltehouse ln Wash1ngton D C The small star advertlsed Eugene Sherman's barber shop ln Edgewood wh1ch was pat ronlzed only by bachelors l1ke h1mself The star wlth the muslcal notes advertlsed the dance band of Glenn Anderegg now known as the hot lxps trumpeter who has had almost a permanent engagement at the Hotel Rosevelt ln New York for years and years Rhonda lnformed us here that Jan Stalnaker never advert1sed on the stars but that he had taken over Mlke Galer' s Jobs about town after poor Mlke had passed on The Clrcus Adverusement remlnded her that Roger Palmer had marrled a granddaugh ter of John Rlnglxng and had mherlted the clrcus H1s stellar attractlon was Joyce Krug er a trapese artlst whom he had dropped l1ke a hot potato back 1n hlgh school days Another ad descrmbed the publ1c park and playground that Eva Lou Reusch had prov1ded for romance and recreatlon of teen agers 1nlov1ng memory of Mel Hmes Jr The star advert1s1ng reducxng pllls showed Shlrley Hoffman before and 'after Martm Waterman was allowlng her to use her poses thls way 1n order to ralse a llttle money Lyle Beck's star advertlsed a steer ralsed on feed that the cattle slmply breathed and thrlved on wlthout other food He and h1 nlne sons operated a forty acre farm and h1s three daughters ass1sted h1s wlfe the former Jeanette Whmtehead Apparently he be lleved that they were cheaper by the dozen The advertlsement on the next star was one for the new clnemascope plcture a revlval of K1ss Me Deadly but th1s tlme starrmg Jay Hansel He has a long term contract w1th the Gxggllng Goose Studxos 1n Hollywood 14 Y .
