Class Prophecy The Class Prophesy was read th1s year by Myrna Jewell Her comm1ttee used the 1dea of havmg an atom bomb plant bemng ded1cated m Edgewood as a reason to brmg the old classmates together agam 1n 1964 The usual car nn al attract1ons and a barbeque were also bemg held 1n connectlon wmth t e event The prophesy was wr1tten as though Myrna was tellmg the story She discovered GORDON FAUST w1th a sh1n1ng bald head 1n the crowd and learned that he was busy farmlng on hls parent's farm EDWIN EVERETT operated a Junk yard near the c1ty dump I-le had f1ve ch1ldren wlth h1m but h1s w1fe was nowhere around MELSON HYDE Fore1gn M1n1ster to the FIJI Islands was the prlnclpal speaker at the dedmcatxon After the ceremony the three old classmates started out together to V1S1t the mldway and barbeque stands They came upon PENNY wlth a seemg eye dog and pretendlng to be bl1nd so that people would contrlbute somethlng m her llttle tm cup They Came upon TOM MEESE rafflmg off used cars and HELEN GRANT and CARL COONFARE as a hus band and wxfe team doxng Spanmsh songs and dances ln a small tent MARY SHAW had gone off her dmet and now we1ghed 620 pounds and was the ma1n attractlon xn one of the slde shows whxle NORMA COONFARE was a close compeutor at 225 pounds and galnlng every day as she worked 1n the barbeque stands In the1r attempt to have fortunes told they d1scovered that the fortune teller was the1r classmate BETTY RIZER and the bearded shabblly dress ed man sellmg programs and penclls at the grte to the stockcar racetrack turned out to be KENNY JEWELL Durxng the afternoon they attended the stockcar races and learned that the Judge for the event was CLETUS HANSEL who owned a race track of h1s own and the wrnner of the event was DALE HOFFMAN who became prof1c1ent as a speed deamon durlng h1s hmgh school days The flnal event of the day was an All Glrl Revue starrmg CAROL AHRENS and MARGIE MORLEY Thxs happy day came to a close w1th MYRA returnlng to her hubby fHarry C J who had stayed at home that day to do the work on the1r farm at W oodcenter QIIQ i 2-X 3 8 ' 1 Y 7 K . y - , . , , 7 1 y' 1 ' 1: , .
