What We Do Makes ld Look New Through this activity old furniture was made to look like new. Participants brought their own furniture from home. They learned the process of refinishing the furniture and give it an attrac- tive new coat of varnish or paint. This activity met on Tuesday in the industrial arts room under the supervision of Mr. Richard Bice. Thirty-nine students were participants in this group, Refinishing old furniture is quite a task, but the participants think the finished product is worth the time. 43

'film Girls interested in art, show their creative ability in craft work. Girl's Crafts consisted of twenty girls, which were divided into two sections. One group met on Monday, thc othcr met on Wednesday. Craft work included such projects as batik, en- arneling, stenciling, and textile work. The girls. also worked on making earrings, pins, cuff-links, and pictures. This group is under the direction of thc art supervisor, Mr. Carl Mengert.
