1936 CIQIMSON PAGE SEVEN ISABELLE M INTOSH IT IS quite probable that no single name is so readily associated with the Edgerton schools, past and present, as that of Miss Isabelle McIntosh, for almost every family in the city has been represented, in one or two gen-I erations, in her classroom. In the minds of many of these students, her name is linked inseparably with English grammar or history, but there are others, older perhaps, who know that her teachings extended over a much wider field to include the fundamentals of good citizenship and character- building. Miss McIntosh knows and understands her former students well be- cause she has, over a period of years, shared in every phase of their en- vironment. This fact makes her keenly interested in their progress since they left her class-room, she wants them to be fit to take their places in the community whose interests are closest to her heart. She still visits school frequently, and observes with genuine pleasure the growth and de- velopment of those who, at one time or another, learned from her the dif- ference between transitive and intransitive verbs, and who, under her guid- ance, began the reading of worth-while literature. Miss McIntosh's influence in the Edgerton public schools and in the hearts of her students did not terminate with her resignation last year, but will be lastingly felt. To her, with appreciation, the Senior Class dedicates this page.

FIQANK L. BUIQDICK EDGERTONS musical life for many years has been largely influenced by the unstinted efforts of Mr. Frank Burdick, who has guided hun- dreds of students through the agonies of beginning music into fields of ex- pert' accomplishment. Practically all the adult musicians in the environs of Edgerton have at one time or another benefited by his instruction. Students in his classes learned their fundamentals pleasantly, com- pletely and permanently. They know him as a man who is thoroughly musi- cal, and who leads others to appreciate music as he does. He would not 1936 CIQIMSON w Ex 4- L tolerate slip-shod technique and was never deaf to a blue note. His pupils respect him for his devotion to his work and for his unassuming manner. He taught less by precept than by example. We don't audibly thank the people who aid us in making the most of our special talents, but we hope Mr. Burdick senses our gratitude when through his efforts we are enabled to play for the entertainment of our- selves and for others. In this spirit, the Senior Class dedicates to Mr. Frank Burdick this page of the 1936 Crimson. PAGE SIX

SOUTHWORTH BOAIQD GF EDUCATION ELECTED by the people of Edgerton for terms of two and three years, the seven members of the Board of Education have given from one to twenty-nine consecutive years of service in the administration of the schools in this community. The harmony with which they have worked together to provide the best of facilities and teachers of high qualifications for Edgerton students merits the appreciation of all the people whom they represent. The Class of 1936 is grateful that the faithful, unselfish and intelligent service of these Board members has built a school from which it may be proud to be graduated.
