0ne Act Play Once again, hard work and determination paid off for the high school one act, which took second in both Regional and Sub-Regional competition. The play was called tiluview and was about a night in a juvenile detention center. As the story progressed, the audience learned what crime each person committed through the use of monologues and mime. The cast consisted of eight characters, which included: Charley Knapp as Gene, Kim Waterbury as Pinky, Lowell Lund as Skip, Jill Waterbury as Carey, Jill Tyson as Philly, Paul Schmidtlein as John Doe, Mara Voelke as Sunny, Jef Hall as Andrew, and Shawn Janes as the guard. Jen Kenyon, Don Pavelka, and Dean Petersen were the crew for the play. Connie Grandmason and Tracy Finanger were the make-up and support personnel. The goal for the cast was to make it to State, but they were happy to take second place in the Regionals. l8 OPENING

J im, the Ticket Man There was something new to protest at the high school this year, parking per- mits. Starting first quarter the school administration instituted a new policy where a student who wanted to drive a car to school had to pay Jim Jammes lknown as Jim, the ticket manl $20 a semester to park their cars and have them babysat. Many students thought it was a dumb idea. Many parents, on the other hand, thought that if their child was going to drive their brand new 2802 to school they would want some type of protection for their car. Jim Jammes seemed to be the solution. Protecting cars was not his only duty, though. He also stopped students from leaving school during school hours if they didnit have one of those little slips of yellow paper. Many of you will remember times when you tried to get away and he caught you. Maybe next year you wonlt have to pay to have your cars watched, and maybe they will get rid of parking lot at- tendants altogether. Either way, Jim Jammes, the ticket man, will be greatly missed. Thank you Jim, for your hard work. OPENING l9
