In Eden Prairie AFS consists of two chapters, an adult and a student. They are the ones who make it possible for Eden Prairie students to go abroad and foreign students to visit Eden Prairie. This year Eden Prairie has been very lucky in having Martine Arm staying here. She is staying with the Pennie F amily. We sent Kay Bennett to Finland and this summer we will be sending Kevin Carter to Austraila. The people who are mainly responsible for the funding and sending students abroad is the adult chapter. The student chapter assists the adults and helps with big projects like the AFS carnival. But one of the big responsiblities of the students is making foreign students comfortable and paying for in school expenses. The student chapter has about twenty members. Mrs. Joly is their advisor and Lisa Soderlind is the Pres. This year the students arranged a short term exchange to Procter, Minnesota. We sent three students and Martine to Procter and they sent five students to Eden Prairie. The purpose of the exchange was to learn what it is like to live with a strange family in strange surroundings. The student chapter also organized the International Days when many AFS students from all over the U. S. visited Eden Prairie High School for a day. ?, illE?YH ,,, .mWW' Now it is almost time to go back home and it won't be easy for me to leave Eden Prairie. After one year you be- come attached to people and to that in which you have been living. I am sure that in the future when I think and talk about Eden. Prairie it will be with a lot of good memories and pleasant feelings. Martine Arm, graduation speechl 20
