DEDICATION The class of 1960 proudly dedicates this annual to Mr. Norman Nelson, our Principal. , Mr. Nelson came to Eden Prairie in 1953. He previously had taught at McGregor, Boyd, Clara City, Miltoy, Butterfield and Brewster. During these years he has had experience in all fields of education. In his first 10 years of teaching he was band director. Since then he has taught math, science, English, social studies, business and speech, to name a few. The major part of his education was obtained at Hamline University, where he received his Bachelor of 'Arts Degree. He has also attended St. Cloud State College, the University of North Dakota, and is presently working toward his Masters at the University of Minnesota. Mr. Nelson is married and has five children: Mary, now in the Hamline University School of Nursing; Margie, attending the University of Minnesota; Mark and Merrill, both in grammar school; and Marmie, who is six. His interests vary from fixing clocks to playing bridge. At one time he was quite proficient in tennis and skating, but lately he hasnit pursued these activities to any great degree. In the time Mr. Nelson has been here, he has made many contributions to our school. He was instrumental in starting our chapter of the National Honor Society, of which he is the advisor. Through his guidance, the Student Council has been strengthened into amore democratic organization. Through his efforts, the treasury of the Council has been increased to a point where it is available to help other financially distressed organiza- tions of the school. Aside from this he has provided leadership to the faculty, which has been difficult due to the crowded conditions. Mr. Nelson, we are proud to dedicate this annual to you.
