Which ones would drop out? Who would the new contestants be ? It took twelve years to answer those questions. Here are the results. . Those first fourteen starters were Jerry Blakeborough, Pat Boyd, Rose Mary Christenson, Ben Filipi, Ronald Glampe, William Good, Robert Hirt, Romona Jones, Pauline Kocourek, Beverly Kopesky, Dewitte Reed, John Shaver, Thomas Smith and Ruby 'i'orger son. In the second lap of the race we find that Ronald Glampe, Romona Jones, and John Shaver have left us but there are many newcomers to take their places. Karen Chelberg, Wayne Chevalier, Larry Parrish, Bert Pierce, Terryl Thompson, David Winsness, Marvin and Melvin Langer and Vernon Torgerson join us in this second lap. Fall of t47' sees us entering our third round. Ruby Toger son, David Winsness, Marvin and Melvin Langer and Vernon Torgerson have dropped out. We have four new replacements LaRose Boike, Luella Gilbert, Donald Garrison and James Simons. Near the end of this lap Terryl Thompson leaves us. Our fourth endeavor brings Harold ,Ander son, Gordon Hopper stad, Bernerd Torger 'son and Dewey Ness. However, Deweyr Ness, LaRose Boike and Karen Chelberg soon leave us. With the fifth, Duane Haakinson, Maryann Marshall, Jerome Pomerleau, and Nancy Owen get into the race. No one leaves us in this lap. Chester Clemmer, Nancy Humphrey, Robert Listberger, Don MacKinnon. Colleen Sweeney and Kenneth Skogstad join us in iSOi and t51i but in the same year Harold Anderson, Duane Haakinson, Nancy Humphrey, Nancy Owen, Colleen Sweeney and Duane Skogstad quit our conte st for other races. September of 1951 and weire over the Hhump . We ire starting our seventh challenge. Bonnie Kormylo, Jeraldine McAllister and Gay Samuelson are the new entries. Jerry Bladeborough leaves us after seven laps. Lawrence Achilles, Pat Eames and Ken Foss arrive in time for the eighth lap. Lawrence Achilles and Chester Clemmer drop out. We're entering our ninth lap. With only four left we find our group remaining a bit more steadfast with fewer entranCes and exits. The ninth brings Elizabeth Florez, Wayne Davidson and Arthur Graikowski. Liz remains but Wayne and Arthur soon leave. Everyone holds through the tenth. At the end of this lap Gay Samuelson and Gordon Hopper stad wave Hso long and depart. More changes occur in this eleventh endeavor. We have four joiners: Richard Brown, Pat Fisher, Marlene Wenisch and Bob Moe. Four more drop out: Ben Filipi, Larry Parrish, Tom Smith and Don MacKinnon. September ofi56' brings the twelfth and final lap of our long race. There are no new- comers at this late stage of the race but three leave: Don Garrison, Ken Foss and Dick Brown. June of 1957 greets the finish of our long and difficult race. There are eighteen proud winners: Pat Boyd, Wayne Chevalier, Rose Mary Christenson, Pat Eames, Pat Fisher, Liz Florez, Luella Gilbert. Bob Hirti, Pauline Kocourek, Beverly Kopesky, Bonnie Kormylo, Bob Listberger, Maryann Mar shall, Bob Moe. Bert Pierce. Jerome Pomeirleau. Jim Simons and Marlene Wenisch. Only four of the original starters remain: Pat Boyd, Bob Hirt, Pauline KOCOurek and Beverly Kopesky. However, there are many who have been with us for nearly all of the complete race. It's been a rough, hard, race; but itis been a good race. Now the officials are about to distribute the prizes. The winners each step forward to receive the reward. What is it? What did they win? Now come along with me, and you'll see exactly where they are and just what they're doing. My first stop took me to the North Pole, where I see Maryann keeping house for an Eskimo family. All Maryann had to say was, HIive run out of ways to prepare blubber, We bid farewell to Maryann and weire off again. We are now in Australia where we see---Oh no: It's Bob Hirt and he's pole vaulting of course! He says, HI feel gr-r-rreat because I eat my Mellougs Frosted Brakes. Pm aboard the plane once more, and I Certainly feel tired. But just as I am about to drop to sleep, a large grape-fruit hitls me in the nose. Iturn around to see who the joker might be, and low and behold: Thereis Luella. What do you suppose sheis doing but practicing her base- ball. Our next stop is New York where we find---you guessed it: Pauline Kocourek modeling: My, but your looking good, Pauline: How do you like your modeling career? H Honk.' Honk.' was all she replied. She has a wonderful job working for Pink PonyH modeling the darlingest bridles and saddles you've ever seen: My plane is now soaring over the Pacific OCean heading roward Guatemala. I just looked out the window and who do you suppose I saw: Pat E. and Jim S. Pat is riding a large red balloon and Jim a blue one. I asked what theyire trying to prove, and they replied, Hwe're member of Conley Engstroniums WHAT DOES THE FUT URE HOLD, CLUB testing the strength of red and blue balloons. As our plane flew on, I heard Jim reply, HLOOOOk OutZ: Bang. Here I am in Guatemala at last. As I step off the plane, I see a great Cloud of dust, and the buzzing sound of a raCe car attacks my ears. As I approach the raCe track I see Wayne oiling up the wheels on his car, called LADY GADIVA. I was off once again, and in the direction of Mexico, when I looked down from the plane and saw California below. I-had to stop at Disney Land; while I was viewing the roller coaster, who should I see but Bob L. and following him the Mousketeers. He's taking Roy's place for the summer and Certainly enjoys his work. I next decided that I would visit a real night Club. I entered the Gold Nugget, and who do you suppose I saw but Pat B. singing ttPEVO . I also saw Rosey C. sitting at a table in the background eating a Kiddie Calorie Peter's Porkette. You see, Rosey is the President of Rosey's Low Rate Lose Weight Salon. I guess Ilve had enough of this night life, so I'm now on my way again bound for Europe. Here we are in Paris, and I'm just in time to take in a style show. The head designer is none other than Liz Florentine. She says, HWe, you notice the style this year is that Dior Look . As I am just about finished with my tour of gay Paris, I strolled across one of its many lush parks and saw a young Couple enjoying the scenery. It suddenly occurred to me that they were Pat Fisher and Chub. I greeted them and went on my way. Itm now on my way back to the good old U.S., Champayne flight. As I got nicely settled in my seat, the airline stewardess said we were entering wind belts and to fasten belts and be calm. Just then the pilot came rushing through the crowd and said, HI can't do it, I'm scared: Ithought I recognized his face; of course it's baby face Bert. Donit jump Bert: Don't jump: Now I had to bail out since there was no pilot. I made a safe landing in Lake Superior and was rescued by two healthy farmer's daughters Bev. and Marlene. They immediately rushed me into the ambulance and took me to a nearby hospital, where I woke up to the words of---Bonnie Kormilly wanted in surgery. The first thoughts which came to my head were, oh no, not me: Just then an orderly picked me up and wheeled me to the operating room where there was none other than Bonnie and Bob Moe with scapel in hand. The regulars Jim Simons, Harold Duda, Jerry Roeser, Bob Hirt and Bob Pauly were greatly helped out by reserve strength from Steve Roe, Marvin Susemihl and Duane Schmidt. The ttEagles were hampered by the limited service of Wayne Chevalier and Duane Schmidt. The outlook for next year is rather bright although E. P. will suffer from the loss of Captain Jim Simons and guard Bob Hirt. ttBt Team The TB team compiled a creditible 8-8 season reCord. Steve Roe led the team with some fine shooting and hard rebounding. The outlook for next year,s young Eagles 'is very promising. Wt Team HThe young HEagles did very well this year chalking up a record of five wins and no losses. They ended up Champs in the valley and should Contribute to next years uBH team.
