wtofuy In 1943 twelve of us little boys and girls greeted Chlorna Bussell for our first day of school. We were Dick Albea, Jeannette Bell, Glendora Brizendine, Gene Butcher, Richard Elsbury, Bruce Filson, Bob Kinnaman, Carl Martin, Tony Olive, Donald Pogue, Charlotte Snider and Sally Hays. Tony Olive left us in the second grade, but Paul Conoway, Georgi Bond, Bill Copeland, Ronald Jones and Shelba Carroll enrolled. ln the third grade Ruth Bell, Marilyn Beyers, Carolyn Dunlavy, Lois Staley and Larry Wise- man came in our room, but we lost Shelba Carroll. We started the fourth grade with 18 pupils. Those who left us were: Ruth Bell, Georgi Bond, Gene Butcher and Paul Conaway. Later on, Peggy Chambers and Bill Elliott came in our class. When we entered Mrs. Humfleet's room, Shelba Carroll came back with us, and Bill Cope- land, Donald Pogue and Peggy Chambers had left during the previous summer. Charles Henry, Barbara Oakley and David Partlow joined us at the beginning of our sixth year, but we lost Marilyn Beyers. There were sixteen of us who came upstairs the next year. Patricia Hymir, Jim Wall and Hugh Griffin enrolled in the seventh grade. In the middle of the summer, Charles Henry, Ron- ald Iones, Barbara Oakley, Larry Wiseman and David Partlow left us. During the next summer Patricia Hymir moved, and Ronald Sheldon and Richard Winkles came to join us in the eighth grade. We lost Shelba Carroll, Ronald Sheldon and Charlotte Snider that summer so that made fourteen of us to start high school together-Dick Albea, Glendora Brizendine, Carolyn Dunlavy, Bill Elliott, Richard Elsbury, Bruce Filson, Hugh Griffin, Sally Hays, Bob Kinnaman, Carl Martin Lois Staley, Richard Winkles and Jim Wall. Our class remained the same through the sophomore year except for Richard Winkles' moving Jeannette Bell, Hugh Griffin and Jim Walls left, so in our junior year we were ten. Bill Trout and Pat lmmel joined us in our senior year. Twelve of us have reached the goal to be the graduating class of 1955 of Eden High School. We are Dick Albea, Glendora Brizendine, Carolyn Dunlavy, Bill Elliott, Richard Elsbury, Bruce Filson, Sally Hays, Bob Kinnaman, Carl Martin, Lois Staley, Bill Trout and Pat lmmel.
