THF CLASS OF '48 In 1936 we find Nine pupils b essed by fate, To c rry on for twelve long years The Class of '48' nd The Ne started school in state Ne ended up in Eden High, The Class of 48 Nor The Now And Our Alma Mater holds a lot Of memories and dates The fun we've had in our school years The Class of 48 Although we've had our quarrels These things we'll relegate Just recall the happy days Class of 48 never complicate shatter the composure Class of 48 when I get to heaven reach the golden gate I hope to see before me The Class of 48 p'l0l46Cy I wish I could look into the future ' I mused aloud, as I sat curled up in a chair with a book of poetry 'Rays of Sunshine' unopened on my lap The dey outside was dismal and I was restless I moved from my chair and went to the fireplace and standing with my elbows on the mantle I gazed into the mirror above it To and behold' as I stood staring at my own image, I seemed be jerked by an unseen force through the looking glass There I beheld and arc supported by two massive pillars Upon the arc were the words 'The Future Awaits Within These Gates But these things happen only in fairy tales' I shook my head to clear it but when I looked again the gates of the m rror opened and I found myself gazing at 'The Future' I was standing an the middle of a wide read There was nothing to do but follow this road, and see where it led I had walked for nearly a half mile when I came to a large white farmhouse A sign on the barn caught m gaze, Hubert Albea and Sons He was one of the most prosperous farmers in Green Township, specializing in Spotted Poland China hogs and Black Angus Cattle Down the road a bit I came to another large fanm The name on the mailbox assured me that this farm belonged to Herbert Stephenson Herb was really maklng the soil pay, from all appearances. He specialized in Chester White hogs. I traveled on down the road until I came to a city. In the business district of this city, a sign attracted my eye, 'Bennett Motor Company'.
