VV xl Q Aa QQ 66444 Zfwfofzq Just two members of the 1948 Graduating Class tarted in the fir t grade to gather, Patsy Heifner and Hubert Albee Others who enrolled with Miss Hendren on Sept ll l956 were Mary Fllen Alford Betty Sproes lg Don Clements Raymond Johns Marion Shores and Lee R1ggS Betty and Marlon moved away and Lee withdrew in April Raymond moved away Our seconr year began on Maxwell Herb Stephenson fr m also came back to Fden making Lee and Lowell left us Miss the year was a circus we held 1n the school room When we entered the third grade in l958 we Don moved and were replaced by Martha Lenard and Maine entered our class Mrs Lane our teacher in the summer Sept 15, 1957 with four new memters, Jack Hite from lapel Lowell Hew on and James Boldander Lee Riggs a total of nlne in the second grade until Jan when Scotten was our teacher One of the highlights of with our mothers as guests were still seven Then James and Ed Johnson In Oct Juanita arranged a tour through James Whitcomb Riley S home 1n Greenfie d which was very interesting Mary Ellen 11th drew in Dec and Martha left our class in Jan and again we were seven In 1959 we entered grade four In Feb of that year Juanita moved and Mary Alford came back Mrs Lane was aga1n our teacher and she took us to Indianapolis for a tour We visited a fire stat1on a telephone office the Children s Museum and other places of lnterest On Sept 9 l94O six of us entered the fifth grade in Mrs Humfleet s room David Burns and Douglas Randolph Joxned our class In Sept 1941 we were in grade six Mrs Humfleet was still our teacher David had left us Alberta Norton came in Nov and was here till Feb Paul Ben nett missed out a year because of Shall became were nine in In Sept Sept James Phyllis Land Delay from Mays JOlh8d us one of us ln March our class What fun 1942 we entered Jr Ripley came into our came from Arlington and Joe Davis came from Sullivan, in Jan Jim illness so he came into our class Dallas Mar And so at the end of our Elementary School there we had the first six years of school High There were still nine of us Later class and stayed until Dec The same month Dallas and Douglas weren't with us when we entered grade eight in 1945 I Oct herald Rosing came and stayed till Nov J1m moved ln Dec to Carthage Those two years in Jr High were years to be remembered Sept 8 1944 was e great day We were GREEN FRFSHIES' Those enjoying the title were Hubert Jaca.
