Coach Marion had four lettermen to form the nucleus for the '45 squad. The season opened with three losses. A more experienced Collingdale squad ran rough- shod over the green Stoners. Downington, despite their inept ball-handling, managed to pull themselves together long enough to eke out a I2-O win. Dropping a heartbreaker to Glen-Nor 2-0 would have been enough to break the morale of any team. ' Not in the least disheartened by these losses. the team went out and turned the tables by overwhelming Darby, The eleven which had a tendency to run alternately hot and cold all season, lost to Clifton.
