CARNIVAL Ed Longhorn and Susie Power on a typical date. Saturday May 5, 1979, Student Council put on a carnival in the Echo Fireball from 7:30- 10:30 p.m. Each class sponsored two booths. Booths included everything from dart throw to fish pond, dunk tank to bingo. The carnival court included Princess Sonia Snow, Escort Kevin Bursell, Princess Korina Gonzalez, Escort Andy Saylor and Queen Teresa Correa, and Escort Brian Hatley. Sixth, seventh and eight grade classes sold door prize tickets two weeks prior to prom. Mrs. Jean Correa won the door prize, a camera.

SCHOOL BOND School has been in session since 1910 at old Echo High. The present building was erected at a cost of $25,000. Many memories have been passed on from generation to generation. In the fall of 1978 a school bond was successfully passed making 1.1 million dollars available to the Echo School District. The AJS Lynch Architect firm drew the blue-prints for the future construction. Construction will start in the summer of 1979. Completion is tentatively set for the fall of 1980. Here is a final look at EHS as we will remember it.
