Both teams were able to finish their seasons with successful records. The seventh grade, under the coaching of Earl T Schofield, went undefeated. They had a 3-0-1 record. . The tie resulting from an 0-0 deadlock with Hartman. , Richard Bain coached his eighth grade team to a 5-1 season and a district championship. This marks the . second consecutive year that an eighth grade Brah- A man team has won a district championship. A Freshman Rumble To 5-2 Record For the second consecutive year, the Furr Freshman football team under Coach Babe Wilkins has closed out its season with a winning record. The 9th graders were able to achieve a 5-2 record against tough opponents such as Lamar Fleming, 6-2, and McReynolds, 20-16, Jackson, 42-65 Edison, 35-O, and Francis Scott Key, 32-8. Their only loses came against Marshall 20-O, and district champs E.O. Smith, 24-6. The freshman placed ten players on the All District Team. Donald Williams, Ricky Phillips, and Adrian Evans were all first team selection on offense. Rayford James and Gary Pendley were chosen to the first team defensive unit. Second team players on offense were Mark Butterfras and Ricky Bucker.
