,'f,:l54 6 0 0 fu I d . , Ccigers End Season With 24-9 Record ln only their second year in 4A-competition the Furr Varsity Basketball team closed out regular district play in a first place tie with Booker T. Washington. The Brahmans lost in the playoff game to the Eagles 91-84 to finish second in the district with an 8-3 district rec- ord. All three of Furr's district loses came at the hands of Washington. ' During the latter part of the season, the Brahmans were ranked 7th in the area basketball ratings. Furr fin- ished the season with an impressive 24-9 season rec- ord. a Tim Sims dribbles past Wheatly defender. b Darral Nelson shoots over Madison guard. c Dennis Jackson overpowers Reagan player for a rebound. d Barry Jones shoots two more as Darrel Nelson breaks under bask- et. 159
