VALEDICTORIAN PATRICIA HEWITT Patricia Lou Hewitt, daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Carlton Hewitt, came to Eau Claire as a freshman. She proceded to earn a 4. 0 grade average for her four years at Eau Claire. She was active in many organizations. Patty received the DAR Good Citizen Award and the Me Neely Citizenship Award in addition to many other awards at the spring Honors Assembly. During the summer of 1968 she toured Europe in preparation to entering college in the falL Patty will attend Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac. SALUTATORIAN KAREN BARTELS Karen Ann Bartels, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Bartels, Jr., has attended Eau Claire since the sixth grade. She achieved a 3.85 scholastic record for four years. Karen's outgoing personality made her one of the best liked people in school She also enjoyed the dubious honor of being an identical twin. Karen will attend Marion College in Marion, Indiana. 24
