This year we have many new features and sections. One of these is the Royalty Section, with Miss Eau Claire of 1966 and the 1966 Prom King and Queen. This will be a full year annual with the 1966 Junior-Senior Prom, the 1966 Graduation exercises, and spring sports included. We hope, as you look through these pages in later years, you will be reminded of all the good times we have had together. DEDICATION We wish to dedicate the 1966 BEAVER TALES to Mr. James Shafer in return for all the help and understanding he has given us. Whenever we had a problem, Mr. Shafer was there, ready to take our problems to heart and to help us work them out. This is something we will never forget, no matter what we find ourselves doing in later years. For all this we extend our sincere thanks to you Mr. Shafer ......................... 5 ELEMENTARY BUILDING 'll! LYBROOK BUILDING ADMINISTRATION FACULTY 7 Adaption to this changing world is so dependent upon education, re-education and continuing education that we must use everything in our power, short of physical force, to see that you continue your schooling as long as you are mentally able. To do otherwise allows you to become a burden on society. Only through education can you become successful and add to the nations wealth. 8 Don K. Silcox Superintendent It is with pleasure that I congratulate the yearbook staff and the student body on this successful venture in yearbook sponsorship. Without the hard work and diligence of the staff and student body this book would not have been printed. The year 1965-66 is a part of a period that the world will never forget. Events of lasting significance happened everywhere on our globe. Tragedy and disaster, joy and hope, war and peace all mingled to form the kaleidoscope that is life. In the same manner, your past school year will never be forgotten. There were many successes, perhaps some failures, many joyful moments, and some disappointing ones. Hours of study, of recitation, of preparation for the many school activities all blend in our memories as a time we wouldn’t want to give up for anything. I am sure all will receive pleasure from this book, although, probably the true value of the book will not be derived until future years. 9 Sincerely, Russell L. Richards, Principal David K. WE WILL SHOOT, PASS, AND RUN, TILL THE BATTLE IS DONE, AND BRING HOME A VICTORY! ADVERTISEMENTS 93 CONGRATULATIONS! CLASS OF 1966 To be able to take life as we find it is the key to wholesome living. Not to fret because everything isn't the way we would like it to be. Not to fear because living is fraught with dangers. To recognize that there is some happiness hidden in every circumstance and life is an opportunity to share in it. Nearly everyone would like to be born brilliant and witty, wealthy and wise. But the lucky number who are is small indeed. What little brilliance most of us achieve is the result of hard work with an average brain. Our wit is recognized only by those who have a deep affection for us. Our wealth is more in the opportunity to live and progress in a country where there is still a reasonable degree of freedom. What- ever wisdom we attain comes from the consequences of many mistakes. Though we live in times when evil men threaten the things we hold most dear, yet we cannot let awareness of them determine everything we do. We must face up to danger as a part of life. Most fears never materialize if we go about the business of living with courage and confidence and a readiness to enjoy whatever happiness comes our way. EAU CLAIRE PACKING CO. R.A.
