Foreword As we look out into the World, we see many new hopes and new dreams. We realize that soon we are to leave Eau Claire High School. It is now the time for our yearbook. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we enjoyed giving it to you. May many happy memories come to those who leaf through the pages of this book. May our work not be in vain. Superintendent's Message At the end of my own Freshman year as your Superintendent, I possess a strong feeling of justifiable pride in the accomplishments of you and the community. I hope the faculty and the administration of this school have helped fit you for the tasks and re- sponsibilities that lie ahead; that you have built a stronger faith in yourselves, your elders, your friends, your school, and your country. I will miss you from the school scene. Please return again and again to encourage all of us and help us to make Eau Claire High School a place of which to be even more proud. 7 Principal's Message As we look around us we can note great strides in progress toward improved curricula and student morale. Our future is bright in continuing along this road of progress. Our Senior Class is about to leave Eau Claire High School along the road of life's progress. All the teachers and the administration trust that we have given you an education you will cherish during your life time. You must always remember it really isn't how much you know that counts, but how you use what you know. The best educated man in the world, if he fails to contribute to society, is looked upon as a failure by his fellow men. In closing I call upon you to use your education to your utmost ability. Further your education to make a better society; take an interest in your school affairs and be good supporters of Eau Claire High School. These things will help to make your school tops in the area. Tales Of The Football Team The Beavers got off to a slow start in their 1960 season by dropping their first game to St. Johns. The two following weeks the Beavers beat Three Oaks and New Troy by indentical scores of 20 to 6. The Beavers lost their next game, but showed they could come back by defeating the Bridgeman Bees 7 to 0. Because of two key players1 injuries, the Beavers dropped their last three games to the conference’s top three teams. The Beavers showed vast improvement over their 1959 record and in so doing, produced some of the better players in the conference. Halfback Earl Dohm and defensive linebacker John Coon were chosen for the Big Eight all conference first team. Lewis Rosenbaum was given honorable mention at a defensive secondary position. Big things are expected from next year’s squad, as the majority of the linemen and backs were either juniors or sophomores this season. 22 Football Players Varsity Cheerleaders Football Jean Dings Beta Kesterke Karen Garlanger Carole Kaiser Sue Andres Marilyn Holle Nancy Sedon Basketball Karen Garlanger Carole Kaiser Vicki Starner Marilyn Holle Karen Garlanger Carole Kaiser Vicki Starner Marilyn Holle 24 Varsity 1 NjK' W.
