Eleven, twelve for many, years of schooling include English. Verbs, diagramming and book reports may not seem important to English students, but it is through these that all English teachers acquaint their charges with grammar and composition. Some poise in public speaking must be acquired, and speaking in front of English class may be the only way for many. Individual, creative work is encouraged through composition.
