STUDENT CQUNCIL President, Harold Cross, Vice President, Eddie Martin, Secretary, Nancy Sniderg Treasurer, Twyla Joyce Dutrog Sponsor. Robert Gibson. Their activities consisted of work on the Honor Roll, Assembly Pro- grams, Selection of Yell Leaders, Sponsoring the Year Book and March of Dimes Collection. I-ICDNORS The Daughters of the American Revolution Good Cit- izenship Contest was taken this year by Dolores Clevenger, Joanne Dutro, and Betty Schick. The con- test examination consisted of questions on our county, state, and federal government. Joanne Dutro won and attended the Good Citizenship Tea given by D.A.R. at the Hotel Roberts for county winners. An American Essay Contest was sponsored this year by the American Legion Auxilary. Walter Stewart won in the high school and Nina Lee Loughmiller won in the Junior High. The topic was WThe Rights We Defend? Walter Stewart and Dean Maitlen were contestants in the Oratorical contest sponsored by the American Legion. Judges were four Ball State speech students. Dean was presented with a gold winner's metal for his achievement and entered the county Oratorical contest in which he received third place. Oratorical Contest
