He has the un- pleasant duty of disciplining us if we violate any of Eastwoods just and necessary rules and regu- lations. He has done this fairly and sympathetically always trying to see our viewpoint. He has worked with the Guidance Department in planning the prograrn. We owe a great deal to Jerry DeWitt. '45 ,- Our Boys' Counselor Dale Harris has completed his first year as Boys Counselor. In that short time he has gained the respect and friendship of those with whom he has came in contact. Individual conferences. program planning. and the emergency problems of our lioy students have kept our Boys Counselor very lmusy. , 1 1 I Q Our Girls' Counselor Nlrs. Thelma Hiller. Girls' Counselor has helped guide our Eastwood girls since the school opened three years ago. ln that time Hrs. Hiller has shown through her fairness and sympathetic understand- ing in all problems that she is well suited to her task. In addition to personal counseling she in co- operation with Nlr. Enthusiasm. loyalty and hard work have made this vearis hand the finest in the schoolis history and an inspiration to all who have had a part in its activities. Tuentv-four first division awards were received luv memlaers of the hand who entered the solo and ensemhle contest at lnfliana Central College in Fehruarv. The entire hand participated in the State Band Contest held at Harry E. Vtioocl school on April 18, and received a first division rating. The hand and Eaglettes journevezl hy hus to Elkhart. 1ndiana on Nlarch 17 to present an exchange concert for Roosevelt Junior High School and to tour the C. G. Conn instrument factory. The annual Eastwood Spring Music Festival. Concerts in the elementary schools of the Eastwood area. and marching in N500 Festival" parade brought the hands activities for the school year to a close. The high- stepping and hard-working twirling corps in their brilliant blue and gold uni- forms have been show-stoppers in many parades and festivals this past year. This precision group. led and trained by one of our students. Carol Henzie. has won many honors these past three years. twice taking first place awards in the State of Indiana in contests sponsored by the llnited States Tvvirling Association. The corps has had numerous invitations to perform. ,lust a few of these include the Home Show. Hobby Show. Soap Box Derby. Centennials at Castleton and Zionsville. American Legion parade. sports events. and the 'SUIT Mile Festival Parade.
